The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills.
The CERT train the trainer class is for individuals that are part of a Citizen Corps Council or CERT Team that would like to become a trainer for their local program. CERT & CERT Train the Trainer classes are free.
The CERT classes are held at 79 S. Flicker Street, Memphis, TN. 38112 and are available in your area. For more information, please contact Eugene Jones at: eugene.jones@shelbycountytn.gov

Community resilience requires the participation of community leaders from all sectors and the public. The local Councils in this registry are committed to strengthening community safety and preparedness through increased civic engagement and to developing goals and strategies tailored to specific community vulnerabilities and population.
Council Mission: The Council's purpose is to bring decision makers together to manage exsisting volunteer respurces, to leverage mutually supportive endeavors among such resources, and to engage in any and all activities supporting the mission, goals, and objectives of the Citizen Corps component of the USA Freedon Corps Initative launched in 2002.
